ok on my bed and couch, Ruby will scratch/dig like mad in one spot. She will sniff the heck out of it and make a funny face and start to dig and scratch at that spot for several mins. She does this everyday. Does anyone know what the heck is going on.

Yep, mine do that, we have to put rugs on the couch so they dont get scratched. And they will dig and dig at blankets to make a little nest for themselves.

Malley does it every night.. Camo will actually grab the blankets with his mouth and lay them the way he wants them.. LOL but Malley does it so viciously I've had to lay other blankets on top of my (BRAND NEW, haven't paid my mom back for it yet! ) comforter!

Mine do it, too. I think it has to do with the fact that Chihuahuas are descendants (some believe) of the Fennec Fox, and they burrow underground. I've seen my Weimeramer do it, but mainly outside and not as much as my Chihuahuas do it. I think she's trying to get a nice little hole to bury herself in, but gives up when she realizes the couch cushions won't budge!
