Can anyone help me, i have been thinking about setting up my puppy pen etc as you all know, think i have lots of nice stimulating toys etc for them. I was wondering if anyone with breeding experience can tell me what age they moved there puppies to a central place in their pen so that they are around family members including dogs! I have read 3/4 weeks but not sure which as there is a big difference in a pup in a week! At the moment they are 2 weeks and they are up in my bedroom with Roxy and I all the time. I want to set up my puppy pen in my livingroom as this is where we spend most of our time - well pre puppies it was!! I have been living in my bedroom for two weeks! This would mean they could see my dogs and people but still be in their pen. What do you think? I know how important it is to socialise puppies but don't want to do it too early.

Hi, It really depends how Roxy is? Is she comfortable with you and the puppies, how would she react if you were to put the puppies in the open? Some females are very protective of there babies the first week to 3 weeks... I would wait till they are 3-4 weeks before moving them to the pen. I usually wait till there first meal and than move them to the pen . Everyone does it differant so go with what you think is right.. BTW the babies are gorgeous

Yes I agree do it when the Mum feels comfy letting the pups be seen and handled by others, let us know how it goes xx

I set mine up at about 3-4 weeks when they are just getting up on their feet and wanting a little more room

they have been downstairs for a week now but come up at night with us to bed as Roxy like to be up with me still. They are doing fab, love the other dogs, and roxy lets them go i and see them. In fact I think Pixie and Maisy think they are the mummy at times!
