Ryleigh is now in her second heat and READY!! She had a physical at the vets to check her all over and she said she has a nice wide pelvis. She is very chihuahua familar as she owns two herself and is the vet that Ryleigh's breeder has used for years, I really liked her. Ryleigh was taken to the studs house yesterday and he made several attempts but I have to say his aim is off We will be going back today, I live close enough I did not leave Ryleigh behind. We will make another attempt with him today, maybe this time I will leave her and give him more time. I have a backup in mind if he can't seem to get it right lol. He will not allow assistance or we could do that. Ryleigh keeps looking at him like "come on already, don't you know what your doing?" He was not happy when we took her home lol. Hopefully today we will have better luck. He is a gorgeous blue brindle, nice cobby body and beautful head so I am really hoping he pulls through for me today.
I am torn between the other two males I like as my backups, I have different things I like about them...Bandit is smaller and throws both coats and usually lots of spotted on white which I love, hist litters are always nice and colorful regardless of the female used. Pete will be retiring so part of me does not want to miss out on a litter with him. He throws babies on the smaller side (not tiny ones just smaller, around the 4 pound range as adults), nice heads but he also seems to throw mostly sables and fawns, nothing against that but in 3 litters I have seen I have a hard time telling them all apart when they are first born lol.
There are pictures of each male on the anticipated breeding page, go to puppies and click the link if you want to see them. tinypawsbigheart.webs.com/
Anyone have any input on choosing a backup, I am guessing I am not the only one to have this issue with a male with bad aim How did you come about your second choice?? I guess this would be a question directed at anyone using an outside stud.
