Yep just one lol. We knew to expect a singleton because of the x-ray. The vet saw no problems in her being able to free whelp even though he looked to be HUGE on the x-ray. Ryleigh has a really nice wide pelvis (thankfully). If she had gone until today, Monday, they were recommending another x-ray to be sure he had not grown to much to come out on his own.
Ryleigh did fabulous. It was like she had done this before. Jumped right in and took immediate care of her little boy, who by the way weighed 4.64 ounces at birth.
She is a wonderful mommy, responds to his every sound and movement. She does want to be in the same room with me though, she cries when I am too far away or runs around the house squeeking at me to come back, so if I am leaving the office for the day(I work at home) I carry her whelping box to the room I am going in. She just wants to be able to see me and hear me. I guess I help her feel safe.
Well here is Clay...born 11/13/2009, yep Friday the 13th, at 5:57 p.m. At this time I thought he was black with white markings
1 hour old
These were taken the next morning, he was 15 hours old and already up to 4.96 ounces!
And my fave pic of him
He looks to be a black tri, well he did at about a half hour old when he started to dry, light fawn showed on his feet/legs. Then at an hour old a chocolate sheen showed his coat with blue tinge to his fawn feet. At times he has a blue sheen. So hard to tell lol, I guess I will have to wait and see, which is extremely exciting.
You can see the brown in these two pictures which were taken at 48 hours old
