ok Rock is still a puppy, as most of you know because I type questions on here all the time, LOL
my parent's have named him the hoover dog because he is always on the prowl for anything dropped on the floor, food, fuzzballs, lint, plastic pieces etc. if it's on the floor he will try to eat it. Also with his toys he is an active chewer and will chew pieces of toys off and eat them. Is this normal? I try my best to always take things out of his mouth before he swallows, but sometimes i don't get the chance. Is he just curious of what?

well puppies, are soooo curious and always learning and grace does the same thing she always tries to chew things and destory toys..not as much now because shes 2 1/2 but for a while ther ei had to hide all the destructable toys and buy special ones that she could destory, and TONS of chewy toys and set those out for her. pixie is like a vaccum cleaner, she eats and inhales all kinds of crumbs but isnt destructive with her toys bc her teeth arent as big as graces... if i were you id just get tons of nylabones, compressed rawhide, etc, etc... so that he can get it out of his system lol

he has 2 different nylabones, along with at least 5 other chew type things, I also give him editable z-ridge bones too. His teeth are definitely clean! LOL I guess it is just him still being a puppy and being curious about everything. I have a very small home and I keep things off the floor but my parents home is huge and have a harder time doing this, I will just have to watch him and be careful!

yea def just try to keep a good eye on him. i knw, its soo hard. but the other thing is..whenever my dogs go to my parents there is like TONS of toys for them so its distracting and they dont get into other stuff. my dogs and my own apartment right now have like 100 toys haha!!! so they have tons of distractions and i bring their toys with them to my parents sometimes too!

Teddy pretty much destroyed everything in our house when he was a puppy, he even chewed the side of a mattress and did a pretty job of it, was like a meter long sim cards, table legs and furniture arms - u name it Teddy ate it!!! We just gave him his own things to chew, kongs are his fave but we always watch how he is going with them coz he can chew bits off the toys too, so once the toy is breaking we throw em out!! for the furniture we put this stuff on it which gave it a bad taste to dogs - dont ask me what it was called but that did the trick!! He eventually grew out of it and now sticks to his own collection of toys thank goodness

Yup, they sure like to chew!! If he chews something that you don't want him to...like carpet, cabinets, etc. you can buy stuff called bitter apple spray to put on it to make it taste bad. Otherwise, yup, nylabones are great as are CET chews from your vet!
