Hi all,
Rocky just finished with a small bout of Diarrhea. He has been on rice and turkey for a few days and now, rice with a little dog food mixed in. I think he had some treats that upset his stomach. But now he is having formed stools. My question is my neighbor's dog was having some stomach issues and our vet and her border told her to use some Pancur C for a few days just in case, to get rid of parasites and to help with digestive health. Has anyone else used it on Chi's? Or do you use anything else to keep their bellies in tip top shape?

I have not use Pancur for that reason so not sure really. How is his tummy now? Its so hard with dogs, I normally do what you have done and hope it gets better. If you havent changed his food it is probably something else he has eaten and should be better soon if not I would pop down or ring the vets for advice. I hope he gets better soon, please give him a kiss from me

Thanks Julie!! Well I went to the vet last night, because what he was passing was not looking pretty, LOL. They tested it and said he is parasite and worm free. But I have been a bad mom. I was still letting him have a treat in his Kong when I was at work and letting him have his rawhide bone. So it was taking much longer to get him back to normal. Now he is only having white rice and ground sirloin. This morning doing much better. Vet said that I should be able to start giving some kibble with the rice tonight/tomorrow depending on how he is. And as long as he is improving we don't need to come back. The reason I was hung up on the Pancur C, was because he loves to put things in his mouth that he shouldn't. Mulch, sticks, rabbit poo. So i thought maybe it was a parasite.

You are not a bad Mummy, a typical one yes lol my hubby feels sorry for my dogs for only having dry food all the time and says they must be bored so gives them beef which I know and he knows gives them the runs As for rabbits poo lol mine have never come across it but believe me I bet Trin would love a bit of that too

Well we went back to the vet today, because I woke up to rocky leaving me presents all over the hallway, fun stuff. She gave me an antibiotic/anti- inflammatory gastric meds for him. We are hoping we can make his stomach relax so the dog food can be re-incorporated with out him having a relapse. His poor little bottom is sore and raw, so we are putting an ointment on that too. Vet is hoping he will be his normal self with in a week. Let's hope so!
