She had to have 15 teeth pulled....she has a really bad mouth due to an underbite and undeveloped teeth that never rooted into the jawbone. I brushed her teeth well and scaled her over the past three years, but there were problems that were not visible. They xrayed her and found pockets of bacteria under the bad teeth that never rooted to the jawbone and had to pull them all as well as all the lower teeth between the 2 canines in the front due to the jaw bones never fusing together like they should forming a solid base. Basically genetically she had a small chance of keeping them. I did real great for 3 years, but her teeth were becoming loose and were really tender (due to bacteria pockets), so she had to have surgery Monday to get all the non-rooted ones out. She luckily kept all large molar teeth and her canine teeth as they all rooted to the bone and the small teeth between her top canines in the front. I feel horrible as Olive, Moose and Willow have beautiful teeth that are so nice and easy to care for, but I couldn't keep up with hers no matter what I did due to her jaw bone and teeth not being right to begin with. She is doing very well considering. She is on metcam for pain and Clavamox antibiotic. Eating and drinking like a star.

Aw poor little baby...sounds like you do an excellent job caring for their teeth, sometimes these things cant be helped. Oliver had to have a couple of teeth removed a while back, as much as I try, he has issues with his teeth and pongy breath! When I went to pick him up from the vets he was still drowsy and looked so cute coz his lil tongue had been sticking out for a while and it had gone all dry lol xx

Poor little Willow! {{{hugs}}} How did the vet suspected that there was something wrong? I know that you take excellent care of your dogs. Please don't feel horrible. How is she doing? Give her a gentle hug from me. xxx

I took her to the vet as she was really getting sensitive every time I brushed her teeth, and they xrayed her mouth and saw everything. She was also starting to get really rotten breath, which she never used to have. Also I noticed some gums starting to recede a little, so I brought her in for that as well.

She is doing very very well considering. She was chewing her Nylabones 2 days after and carry her Pink Fuzzy Lover around 1 day later (her favorite toy, but she is very naughty with it ) She has a couple more days of antibiotic. She starts her sealant treatments next Monday, and I will do those weekly along with her brushings and water treatments. Thank you

It is her naughty toy....a fleece pink bone that she humps and carries around ALL the time. When Pink Fuzzy Lover is missing, she has Green Fuzzy Lover to turn to still It is the only thing she is dominant over.....as she is the bottom of the pack in this house
