My pup is supposed to be 4-5 lbs full grown (parents are 3 and 5.5 lbs) so when I get her at 13 weeks she'll only be like... 2-2.5 lbs?!?! Omg! When I got Carl at 8 weeks he was already 5 lbs

At almost 12 weeks old Malley weighed 1 lb 9 oz and Kami weighed 1 lb 6 oz. I can't believe they'll be 13 weeks old on Sunday.

I think Nadia is charting to be around 5.5 so far and Hurley should be around 5? One of the first breeders I visited had a chunky little guy named Hershey and he was the cutest little guy ever...She said he used to be 3.5 pounds but is overweight at 6 pounds!!!! He had to have a tiny frame because he did look very round... But he was the friendliest boy

I'm trying to figure out what Tango's adult weight will be, given that I don't know what his birth weight was. He's 2.4 lbs and 30 weeks old. If I've understood the weight chart correctly, he's not going to get terribly much bigger.....2 1/2 to 3 lb adult weight. I guess I'm a bit confused, because on the weight chart, the age/weight estimations stop at 26 weeks, and the adult predicted weight is just a few ounces more than the 26 week weight. But 26 weeks old is around 6 months old, and a puppy isn't gong to be an adult for at least another 6 months, so won't they do more growing than just a few more ounces? I wasn't looking for a pocket pet.....but all indications are that that's what I've got Which is fine, I'm madly in love with him no matter what his size but I'm getting the idea that there's more care involved in looking after something so tiny.

Most chihuahuas gain the majority of their adult size by 6 months thye just tend to change shape and fill out a bit more

Jinxy was 44 oz at 16 weeks, which means she should have been about 4,5lb full grown. She is a fatty though 5,5lb. My vet told me to try to drop her weight to 4,2lb - 4,5 lb So the chart must be right.

Thanks Clare for the feedback. I guess Tango is just gonna be tiny. He's still kinda gangly, y'know the way dogs are when they're adolescents, no matter what their size? He's lean and leggy. Most adult Chi's that I can remember seeing look more stocky, thicker through the chest than Tango. I guess that's where he'll fill out.

I have two freaks of nature, lol... Lexi was 6 oz at 8 weeks and I think she was off the chart at this point. She was 1 lb 2 oz at 13 weeks, so 18 oz at that point and charting 2-2.5 lb. She is actually closer to 3 which makes me happy, although I will admit she is on the chunky side but not actually fat (yet). Patch was charting 5 as a puppy but at some point her growth slowed. She is 4 lb right now and has a petite body overall--she is not much bigger than Lexi who I think is still smaller than a banana (in length).
